The Twitter new features is at this time in testing and hence, accessible to very few users for now.
Twitter enables you to type more than 280 characters in tweets. Users can add photos and GIFs in their tweets. Still, the micro-blogging platform would restrict users to stick to one form of media in tweets. So, if you added a photo, you could attach more photos, but not a different form of media. Now, Twitter is working on changing this.

The feature is presently in testing and thus, accessible to not many users for the time being. Would it be a good idea for it be welcomed, we will probably soon see the ability deployed to everybody with an update. In any case, note that the new ability still sticks to the maximum of 4 elements, so while you can now add multiple media together, you’re still limited to four pictures/videos/GIFs.
“We’re seeing individuals have more visual discussions on Twitter and are utilizing pictures, GIFS and videos to make these discussions more powerful and exciting. With this test we’re wanting to figure out how individuals consolidate these multiple media formats to express themselves more creatively on Twitter beyond 280 characters,” Twitter said in explanation to TechCrunch.
The expansion will be a much needed development for user who need to post multiple media, particularly images and videos together. The workaround right now for user who needed to share both together was to turn a single tweet into a thread and add photos in a single tweet and videos in another.
