Final Fantasy 14: Check out the new trailer to see the Island Sanctuary.
The latest patch for Final Fantasy 14 has a release date that Square Enix has announced. Patch 6.2, titled “Buried Memory,” will be released on August 23rd, less than a fortnight from now.
It’s also a fairly old update. To begin with, it has a brand-new component called “Island Sanctuary.” Players can retreat to a tropical island paradise and create their very own farm in this new kind of casual solo experience. You can gather resources, build various facilities, and take care of a variety of creatures here. Playing Island Sanctuary doesn’t require any previous crafting or gathering expertise either. In essence, it’s a quiet area for relaxing away from the rest of the game.
The patch also continues the main story with new quests, and expands the side story Tataru’s Grand Endeavour. There’s a new Dungeon in the form of the Fell Court of Troia, and a new eight-player raid called “Pandæmonium: Abyssos” which will transport players to the dungeon of Lahabria.
On FF14’s dedicated Buried Memory website, you can learn about everything that will be included in version 6.2. You can watch the brand-new trailer that was released along with the release date announcement above. Since I don’t play FF14, everything you say is nonsense to me. However, the gibberish is very beautiful and spectacular, and I like the little dancing mice and rabbits.
Square Enix has also detailed the features coming with the next update, Patch 6.25. This includes much of what you’d expect like new main and side quests, new daily quests, and new weapon enhancement quests that let players obtain and enhance Manderville Weapons. But it also includes an ultra-hard type of dungeon known as Criterion Dungeons, which Mollie wrote about in detail here.
